The first post

Well, here it is. The first blog post on jadedgamerblog.com. Chances are, you stumbled onto this site nowhere close to the date that this post was added. But If by some remote chance you are here anywhere close to jadedgamerblog’s inception, you’re probably wondering what the purpose of this site is. Well, to be honest it’s kind of a vehicle for me to both gripe about, and praise the game industry for the things that I see them doing both right and wrong.
So what are my aspirations for this site? Fame, fortune, and power of course. But the chances of a blogger getting any of those by way of their postings is a little ludicrous. So I’m just going to have to settle for having some fun, and finally getting some of my views on the gaming industry out off my chest.
So who am I? Where do I come from? Questions I should probably be asking myself, but I’m not actually that interested in the answer. However you’re probably a little curious about the answers to those questions. Well I’m a 30 year old gamer living in Australia. But I’m not Australian, I’m Canadian. And I’ve been playing games for as long as I can remember. We’re talking TRS 80, and colecovision. But although I’m big on classic gaming, I’m also pretty big on modern gaming as well. I’ve got a Wii, and 360, and a computer that is decent enough that I can play most current PC games.
For the past 6 or 7 years now, I’ve been working for a company that produces TV shows that revolve around previewing and reviewing of videogames. My role there is as the review show’s offline editor. However, my real passion lies in the making of videogames. I’ve currently got a few projects I’ve been working on in my spare time. One of which you will see updates on fairly soon. I’m not going to go into detail about it at the moment, but I will say it’s a game for the iPhone/iPod Touch.
Logistically, I’m going to do my best to keep a regular schedule of 2 blog posts a week(Mondays, and Wednesdays)and 1 review a week on every friday. As reviews go, I’m going to do my best to keep a bunch of them current, but you’re probably more likely to see most of them ending up being classic games reviews.
So that’s the first post. I guess we’ll have to all just wait and see how it progresses from here. I hope you enjoy this site as much as I hope to enjoy working on it.
